The 25-pound cap does not exist here.
A 100-pound lab mix is fine. Two big dogs are fine. There is no breed list. Dogs may be on the furniture with permission, and a large crate is already in the condo if you would rather use one while you are out to dinner.

The private dock sits on shallow, calm Currituck Sound, so a swimming dog can wade in without rip currents or summer beach-hour rules. Green space for walks is a few steps from the elevator, and there is no lobby or shared hallway to cross with a wet dog.

- What is the pet fee at Grandy Cove?
- There is no pet fee. When you book direct, up to two dogs stay free. There is no pet fee, pet deposit, cleaning fee, or booking fee; the only addition to the nightly rate is North Carolina and Currituck County lodging tax. The same condo is listed on Airbnb, where the platform adds its own service fee.
- How many dogs can I bring, and is there a size limit?
- Two dogs, any size, no breed restrictions. We do not have a weight cap or a breed list, so two large dogs are welcome. If you are traveling with more than two dogs, send us a note through the form on this page before booking.
- Can the dogs be left alone in the condo?
- Yes, for a few hours, for example while you are at dinner or the aquarium. A large crate is in the condo if you would rather use one. Dogs may not be left alone overnight, and dogs that bark excessively cannot be left alone at all, out of fairness to the neighbors.
- Are dogs allowed on the furniture?
- With your permission, yes. The flooring is easy-clean LVP throughout, and the washer and dryer are there for towels and dog bedding.
- Where can my dog swim?
- Right off the property. The private dock is on Currituck Sound, which is calm, shallow water with no surf. The ocean beaches are a 25 to 35 minute drive; the next question covers which ones allow dogs and when.
- Which Outer Banks beaches allow dogs?
- All of them, with different rules at each town line. Nags Head allows dogs year-round at any hour on a leash of 10 feet or less, and Cape Hatteras National Seashore does the same on a leash of 6 feet or less. Corolla allows leashed dogs all day. Kitty Hawk allows dogs all day too, on a leash of 6 feet or less from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in summer. Southern Shores keeps dogs off the beach from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. between May 15 and September 15, and Kill Devil Hills does the same between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Duck lets dogs off-leash on the beach under their owner's control, but has no public beach parking. - What do I need to bring?
- Bring a paper copy of current rabies vaccination records, your dog's food, and a leash for the beach. Bowls, a dog bed, a crate, an entry mat, and waste bags are already in the condo. Our dog packing list covers the rest.
- Do you take cats or other animals?
- Dogs only, up to two. Service animals are welcome regardless of the pet policy.
